Introduction

Since all businesses have competitors and all investment vehicles vie with their alternatives, it is crucial to gauge the competitive advantage of potential stock purchases. Durable competitive advantages will ensure attractive returns for years to come, preventing competition from eroding profit margins to unsustainable levels. To this end, NLP (Natural Language Processing) will be conducted to analyze the competitive positioning of companies considered for purchase. It is expected that companies with strong competitive advantages will provide superior business metrics that translate into above-average returns for investors (Buffett and Clark, 2011; López de Prado, 2018).
